Dirty green pool to sparkling clear water in 5 days

It's a Poolmergency! 5 Steps to Sparkling Water in 3 Days

If you just realized that your pool water is closer to grotesque than good, this is the blog for you.

There is no need to panic - Follow the steps below to get your pool ready for the party.

You have 3 days - Go!

Step 1: Test & Balance Pool Water

Make sure your Alkalinity, pH, and Sanitizer levels are balanced. Bonus points for checking Calcium Hardness and Total Dissolved Solids.

Alkalinity: 100 to 150 ppm
pH: 7.4 to 7.6
Free Chlorine: 1-3 ppm

It is important to get these levels in check before you have a lot of people in your pool. If your pH levels are off, you're going to have a pool full of guests with itchy eyes and irritated skin.

Keep your sanitizer level in the stated range but in this case, since time is of the essence, aim for the higher end at 3 ppm.

Step 2: Shock Pool Water into Shape

Typical chlorine shock treatments require time to circulate and dissipate. For a fast and more gentle approach, use a chlorine-free oxidizing shock product.
While this method may not be as aggressive at killing contaminants, it is safe to swim in within an hour or two after application.

You could shock your pool again the morning of your party if needed.

(If you are experiencing algae in your pool - I wish you the best of luck, but this is not the blog for you)

Step 3: Treat with Orb-3 Pool Enzymes

If your pool water is still cloudy, use Orb-3 Pool Enzymes to clear things up.

Unlike most water clarification products that only mask your cloudy water - Orb-3 Pool Enzymes treat the root of what's causing cloudiness by treating all of the gunk left behind by swimmers (body oils, sweat, urine, cosmetics, dead skin cells and other unmentionables).

Additionally, Enzymes degrade organic contaminants which is critical when you have a large group enjoying your pool.

The sooner you start using enzymes the better. Orb-3 Pool Enzymes help your pool water recover after your epic fourth of July extravaganza.

Step 4Let the Scrubbing Commence

Nothing is better for your pool than a bit of TLC.

Start by skimming your pool surface to remove debris such as leaves and twigs. Next, check that your filtration system is functioning optimally. Clean or replace the cartridge if needed.

Then use some elbow grease and brush the sides of your pool. Finish up by vacuuming the last remnants from your beautiful pool.

Bonus Step

Share a photo of your pool on Instagram using the hashtag #Orb3.

The weather is perfect, the sun is shining and all of your friends are excited to spend their day with you at your glorious pool. Enjoy.
