The Koi Club of San Diego's (KCSD) objectives include education of their members and the public on all aspects of koi keeping, promoting the koi hobby, and becoming a part of the larger community of koi enthusiasts throughout the country and the world.
The KCSD is a member of the Associated Koi Clubs of America, a network of over 100 clubs. AKCA trains and certifies koi judges, researches koi health problems, publishes a magazine, KOI USA, and holds an annual meeting open to all club members. AKCA and KOI USA provide the links that connect us with the U.S. koi community, including the dealers that provide us with our pond supplies and our favorite fish.
The Koi Club of San Diego's Annual Open Koi Show is one of the largest in the United States with 300 to 400 koi competing for awards before a prestigious international team of judges. At the show people come together not only to celebrate the finest koi but to renew friendships with koi keepers from around the world.
